Re: How would you design the "Formula" of F1? (regulations)

Making the rules commercially and/or technically viable is another thing altogether for this thread. I suppose one of the upsides of the early 90s cars was that they still could find a reasonable tow when following another car. Now we only hear about cars losing grip. Perhaps F1 should look at the n...

Re: Adios marbles

Mind you, I have recently developed a taste for peanut butter and nutella on toast.

Re: Halo / Flip-flop

I don't agree with the deflection comments. Overall, it increases protection against small objects. The objective is to protect the head; the hypothetical deflected object is likely to be a reduced energy impact so might end a career rather than a life. Henry Surtees' and Justin Wilson's accidents w...

Re: Adios marbles

I had to Google the name...

Experiment isn't the word so much as accident. I think it would have been less of a stretch than the first person that tried Marmite?

Re: How would you design the "Formula" of F1? (regulations)

I'd also add to my rules that the current communications rules stay in place, driver coaching was a joke  Did they not get opened back up again? I would like it so only race control could speak to drivers during the race. The teams then design cars that can be driven without needing to na...

Re: 2018 F1 Launch Dates

As for the Halo: https://ak0.scstatic.net/1/cdn2-cont8.sweetcouch.com/141217286268564949-hawalker-men-waka-orange-rubber-flipflop.jpg Is that the beachwear brand that McLaren actually is carrying sponsorship for on the halo itself this weekend? I don't mind the halo at all, but they do look like fl...

Re: race today

A very enjoyable race in Uruguay yesterday. One or two excellent passes and a really tense fight for the win (even if that didn't amount to much in terms of position change). The nose camera on Di Grassi's car was implausibly close to JEV's rear end for longer than seemed possible without it ending ...

Re: race today

It looks like Formula E will race on the full Monaco circuit from next season when they have the new car. It will be interesting to see what the difference in lap times is - the cars are still going to be a world away from F1 in aero, tyres and power. More interesting still, Formula E might manage a...

Re: Mclaren?

The question in my mind is have McLaren ditched Honda just as that engine seems to have solved the worst of its problems, or are their headaches in testing indicative that the struggles of the last three seasons were much more of McLaren's own making? I don't think McLaren are necessarily in terribl...
