F1 Jokes

A small boy says to his father "Dad, what's the difference between 'theoretically' and 'realistically'?" His dad thinks and then says "Right son, go and ask your mother if she'd sleep with Lewis Hamilton for a million quid." The boy toddles off and comes back saying "Dad, dad, she said she would! Sh...

Re: The End of Formula 1 on Terrestrial TV

I would have started a poll but couldn't find the option This isn't enabled by default (something I didn't know) and it didn't show up when I was testing the board. I have enabled it for the Formula 1 forum now, and will do the others later when I have more time. You should be able to edit your ori...

Re: How would you design the "Formula" of F1? (regulations)

I suppose this is what I consider "the real F1" ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPiBtKVQQZM Also, I feel that F1 drivers should not be able to get such a near perfect lap so frequently. It seems too easy for an F1 driver to get a lap with no mistakes compared to (for example) the car in the vide...

The End of Formula 1 on Terrestrial TV

So this is the last year F1 will be shown on Terrestrial TV in the UK. :( Based on last season, and the start of this season, I won't be buying more TV (I already pay my TV licence) to watch F1. You see, not only do I not want to pay any money to Rupert Murdoch's empire, but I don't want to give the...

Re: NowTV F1 Season Pass

I love watching F1 on Channel 4! Yes, as you all know I am a big Sky/Murdoch hater and wouldn't give them a penny, but even that said (I've watched it on Sky at a mates a few times in 2017 and Ted Cravitz need a slap, he's sooo passive-aggressive) even if it was FREE I'd still watch the Channel 4 sh...

UK Insurance Companies and their Government supporters

for a long time now the UK insurance industry has been making massive profits at the expense of the public, and now through various means have convinced the government that they should cap Personal Injury claims. They say that premiums have continued to rise because of all the fraudulent claim, and ...

Re: Halo / Flip-flop

I don't agree with the deflection comments. Overall, it increases protection against small objects. The objective is to protect the head; the hypothetical deflected object is likely to be a reduced energy impact so might end a career rather than a life. Henry Surtees' and Justin Wilson's accidents ...

Re: How would you design the "Formula" of F1? (regulations)

I'd also add to my rules that the current communications rules stay in place, driver coaching was a joke  Did they not get opened back up again? I would like it so only race control could speak to drivers during the race. The teams then design cars that can be driven without needing to na...

Re: How would you design the "Formula" of F1? (regulations)

Hmm Paddle boxes not being real. Any number of very expensive two seaters have them. In any case stick shifts are hardly mandatory in road cars. I've owned a number of automatics in my time & teh next car may well be one. I don't really follow you with the word"real" - neither Herb or I used that w...

Re: How would you design the "Formula" of F1? (regulations)

I was watching an interview with Ross Braw on Sky where they were talking about this. Do they carry on mirroring and pushing future road car tech or decide that's not relevant to the sport at some point and diverge? I've often thought that paddle gearboxes were cheating or not really what 'driving'...
