I keep forgetting that it's on and every time I try and use Channel 5 catch-up it doesn't work

They do at least seem to have activated series link on Freeview for the race coverage now, just in time to switch over to Spike for the last race. The race this weekend in Chile was pretty good... the top five running the final few laps within a few seconds and the Techeetahs somehow surviving Lotterer's impersonation of Piers Morgan with Trump.

Love Formula E.
Loving the Gen2 car for next season too.
Looks like all the future designs F1 teams were coming up a couple of years back.

Even if the new car looked like a dog, the fact that they will ditch the ridiculous car swaps will be a massive improvement for the sport. Then they really need to get some continuity in the calendar and particularly avoid the huge gaps between so many of the races.

Ideally, I would like to see them run a couple of events on dedicated tracks too. I appreciate that part of the main USPs is that the events are held in large cities but some variety would be great. If they can run on the full Monaco track too, instead of the stupid hard right at T1 to loop back in at the chicane, it would be far better.

The next couple of seasons will tell us a lot about the real potential of Formula E and I hope it can really build some popularity.

I dont understand why so many manufacturers are involved in it now when they cannot actually develop the cars??

The development is restricted to the power train only, but that suits the manufacturers perfectly as the technology is supposed to transfer straight to real electric vehicles. Competition on batteries would drive up the costs a lot and leaves the series somewhere to go in later seasons if manufacturers start to feel they're not getting the same benefits from iterating on the power train. I wonder if batteries are something that car companies would buy in rather than develop independently anyway.

Somewhat conflicted here. I can understand why the batteries are excluded from technical competition on the grounds of cost, but on the other hand, battery technology is the thing that still most needs to advance to make these things viable as road cars.

Mexican ePrix is on this weekend. 21:30 on Spike, I believe. Probably best not to tune in too promptly unless you enjoy the sound of Vernon Kay braying like a donkey.
