Absolutely a legend. He seemed to be the most brutally straight-forward guy in the paddock, in the best way possible.

yeah I was genuinely a little upset when I heard the news, which is very unlike me. :cry:

I always loved how Niki was such a straight talker, and got on with everyone in the paddock. It seems he was respected throughout, which seems quite rare. He always came across as very genuine, someone who really gave a shit about the same things the fans do - racing.

I always looked up to him because of the way he battled against his injuries and got straight back into the saddle so to speak, nothing was going to stop the guy racing, he followed his heart and took his head with him. I loved how much shit he used to give Eddie Jordan aswell, and probably the only guy Eddie wouldn't argue back at!

F1 one (like the world) needs more Niki Laudas, it's a poorer place without him ....
