Maybe Stoffel's departure from McLaren is to make space for Kimi's return?

In reality, I am sure it's a more recent ex-McLaren driver that will be taking that seat.
Erm, I mean I bet they want to give the implausibly named Lando Norris a race seat.

Honestly thought Kimi would retire if Ferrari dropped him.

I was just looking at one of the driver rating pieces today that pointed out how invisible Raikkonen has been for the last couple of weekends. It crossed my mind that it was just as well he is retiring in that case; and then I remembered he is carrying on.

Is he going to adopt the Marcus Ericsson role next year, bimbling around and not really contributing anything much beyond the occasional accident? While he doesn't have the antipathy that Alonso has really unleashed on F1 of late, I just can't see Kimi having something of an Indian summer in his return to Sauber. I really hope I am wrong on that.
